I don't know quite what widgets can do, but if it can do that and read from the Greatest and/or Latest pages, that would be sweet.

There are a number of widgets that do this... Maybe I can even get the source code to one...

Just right click on the widget and "show package contents"
All the code and parts are there (assuming no plugins).
