CNN really is trying to cast poor in worst possible light
or the news anchors are clueless?

Just showed footage from the inside of the dome. In one shot, two young boys are rough housing. Anyone who has been around young boys know they do this. They are just letting off energy in a tense situation.

She says: "Just there you saw a scuffle." Questioned if more violence would be ensuing.

I guess if you have poor and minorities stuck together, violence is inevitable.

Anyone see this? Did you have a different take?

4. Sorry
I just saw it. Was there the same commentary then?

Did it look like two boys rough-housing to you?

15. no, there was no commentary
They were showing people coming into superdome and it was one in a montage, including an elderly woman walking along on the floor level, and people sitting int he stands, it was clearly two young boys playing around

3. I saw that!
Pathetic!

Then, the camera zeroed in on a camouflage-outfitted National guard guy, strolling around like a cop on the beat.

5. Roof ripped open, waters rising outside...
toilets not working, electricity a minimum, don't know if your home and/or family still exist, reports that two people have died inside the dome... I'd say it's only natural that emotions are running high.

6. Sure they are
but the "example" they showed were two young African-American boys goofing around. I just thought it was racist stereotyping.

10. This is why I nolonger have cable.
DU is my news clearinghouse now. I thought your comment was a general racial stereotyping, not commenting on a specific piece of footage. My mistake.

13. It is the same racist stereotyping
that has the LA NG and all their equipment thousands of miles away, looking helplessly on as their communities are devastated.

12. Yes, CNN's biased and untruthful news strikes again.
What next? Are they going to show Bush on top of something with a megaphone assuring the victims that he's got everything under control?

17. They are dehumanizing these people so that when the numbers of
dead are announced...everyone will just think they deserved it because they stayed when they could have gone.
The only thing the sheeple will worry about is that Hurricane Katrina caused the gas prices to go up.

Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 12:48 PM by DBoon
They don't need to - they have enough money to hire poor people to fight for them

20. Of course they don't
It's so uncivilized.

Know why the rich people aren't fighting or looting. They were able to escape, and even if they lost all of their homes, they have another one (or two) and money in the bank to replace everything.
