Raw Story is saying that Wall Street is predicting oil to go to $100 a barrell in the not too distant future.

We are all going to have to learn to walk again. That might be one upside.

13. Well, yea.
There's that, too.

This will really affect businesses big time. Actually, it already is here in Kansas City.

People just can't do the things they used to do. Costs too much.

12. How are they going to refine that oil with the refineries shut down
in the gulf? Weren't we already at max. refinery capacity levels before this? That oil in the reserves needs to be refined right?

25. From what I understand...
There are many refineries in many other areas of the
country.

Pres. Clinton authorized releases from the reserves at least
twice due to hurricane disruption. (Lili and Ivan)

14. In Berkeley the
of gas was 2.98 and I'll go see what it is now. The MSM isn't talking about all the disconected and floating deriks in the gulf at all and I don't think gas prices will ever come down. I bet some CEO's are getting ready to cash in on some stock options now...

enough to shops to walk too.

We are both physically disabled and live in the country. Today we juggled our extremely limited funds just so we could fill the car up before the price went higher then $2.67 (the other gas station kitty corner had just jumped to $2.73). Luckily that will last us a while since we don't go out to often and have always combined trips to save gas.

Since I used to ride alot, have always wanted my own horse and our new home has a BIG barn and land, we're seriously thinking of getting a horse and buggy to do the local runs with. Pretty soon owning and keeping a horse will be cheaper then gassing up the car the way things are going. Luckily since our area is heavily Amish and most shops are set up to accomodate their horse and carriages it wouldn't be a problem.

Our bigger concern is heating oil though... for those of us that live in the North Country heat is needed to LIVE and Winter is fast approaching. Guess it's time to find out what heating oil is up to ::sigh:: and figure out how to afford at least a minimum delivery before they go up more. :(

yeah it sucks that gas is zooming over $3 but what is happening in NO dwarfs it. Personally I think we are getting gouged but I wouldn't want to be in NO or Biloxi right now

22. 2.66 a gallon here
Savannah Mo. We're usually on the cheaper side of gas, being close to the southern oilfields of Ok and Tx.
I'm afraid this winter will be a nitemare for people who use heating oil.
