2. doesn't all that water have to be pumped out??
man, I feel for those residents. If there are now 20k-30k people in the superdome there could be alot of illness and worse. They need to airlift and ship in relief ASAP!!!

4. This is bad...
The downtown area had been a dry area... I wonder what levee break is contributing to this?

6. Seems to be that it's only going to get worse....
The lake has to drain until there's an equlibrium or all levees are secured. The more river flooding that occurs, the weaker the levees get, and with all the rain being dumped upstream (TN, KY, OH, etc...) more water is headed for the city. I seriously doubt the pumps can keep up even if they were working.... tragic... there will be water in the city for months.... The total lives lost will be dramatic, New Orleans will be a ghost town for years...

8. Yeah, I heard the flood waters are 'supposed' to crest today...
However, Katrina is still dumping up in the OH valley... All that water is going to head down to the Gulf eventually, as I understand it... I hope I'm wrong...
