I remember when Grand Forks in ND burned after the Red River flooded in 1997. I'm afraid the possiblity exists that we could have a repeat here.

Also, the reporter speaking on video phone is going pretty much over the top. "Unimaginable...gotta hunker down...impossible for police to provide security...significant security concerns...people concerns...I'm overwhelmed...15-20,000 in/at Superdome now..."

I recall a 60 minutes-type program of a female police officer who was also a hit man for the mob. After she had killed some guy, she went back into uniform and asked a witness if she had seen who had done it. The witness repied, "Yes, I did. It was you." So much for her career in law enforcement.

3. The mayor reported gas leaks.

He said there were gas leaks under the water, and that flames would shoot out of the water because of it.

6. NBC reported gas fumes this morning

They said they could have been from the cars that had been flooded but it also could have been from above ground gas tanks-they can't bury then in NO.

That is an amazing photo. Where are the armies hovercraft? They should get those in there so they can at least get people to the freeway overpasses. and not with the floating dead bodies. What are they waiting for?
