"Get that woman away from me or I'll scratch her eyes out!" |
|
We just had a nasty confrontation in our breakroom, which is around the corner from my office. One of our employees is originally from the Biloxi area and heard another woman comment on people who chose to stay being "too dumb to live".
I sent both employees home for the day. Yikes.

In Repuke America, it's not fashionable to feel any empathy for the unfortunate. Might get people upset with the unspeakable morons who run this country. You can't control nature, but if the National Guard were at home, rather than in Iraq, perhaps some of this devastation could have been minimized.

we need so many more people like you
the disconnect and contempt that people feel towards their fellow man is a tragedy im grateful if there is even one person who will be asked to reflect on their behavior
communication and caring is essential with everyone and perhaps this will be an important lesson for her in life (if she lets it be it can be quite powerful for her)

to second that motion. She needs to keep her ass hat opinions to herself. Probably one of those "good Christian" types, I'm sure.

I mean, it's not as though everyone has the means to leave, no?
Essentially, isn't that lady saying "People who have no place else to go, and no means to get there shouldn't live." ?

We see it here on DU and everywhere. Fat? It's their fault. Aids? It's their fault. Cancer? It's their fault. Caught by Katrina? It's their fault.
:puke: It's not enough to bear the misery - insult must be added to injury. :puke:
