1. I don't think there is a way, but if there is it would be Red Cross
probably.

It's also a bit early, probably.

I am sorry -- will hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. It has to be very difficult to be in this in-between place of not being able to find out anything.

6. Sorry about your family....
All TV news channel report that all communication systems are under water, no power to operate them and even news reporters are having a difficult time trying to report through satellite. Red Cross phone lines are impossible to reach. We can only sit and wait, and pray.

Missing persons rescue database

A reader posts that there is a database being developed for people who are missing and may need to be rescued from New Orleans. Call 225-925-6626 to give officials their names. They may also have information about people already rescued. We attempted to check this number and were unable to get through (busy signal).
