I DON'T CARE! THIS NEEDS TO BE SEEN!

Yeah, I know....it is so five minutes ago to post free republic threads, but OMG! This is frightening! Some of these f****ckos ACTUALLY THINK PHELPS AND CO. ARE PROTESTING THE WAR!

I guess the adage is true:

"If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention."

For what it's worth, at least no one likes the guy or condones what he does, but the misinformation is astounding!

7. Phelps associating himself with a godless liberal? I don't think so.

12. No, it's true
Phelps had a smidge of sanity back then, though he was already an unsavory character.

14. So, I guess Phelps represents "What's the Matter With Kansas".
After reading that book what you say does make a certain sense.

17. Yes, it's true
He was a family friend of Gore and worked for his campaigns. He was even ran for the Dem nomination for governor of Kansas in 1998.

He's as much a Democrat as Zell Miller and LaRouche. Real DINOs.

18. He did in '88. He also received awards as a Civil Rights Activist.
That was before he went insane.
I found this in a Phelps timeline:
"1988
Phelps provides rooms for Democrat Al Gore's presidential campaign workers. Though the Phelps-Gore connection will grow increasingly distant, Phelps' oldest son, Fred Jr., is invited to the first Clinton-Gore inauguration in 1993.

By 1998, Gore will be seen as such an enemy by WBC that its members picket the funeral of Gore's father."

8. Anyone who has questions about the Phelpsters need only refer
to their website; The Westboro Baptist Church is not shy about stating what they stand for- and against. Any idiot will plainly see that this group is not made up of 'leftists'...hell, some freepers may agree with most of Phelps' apocalyptic dogma.

16. I think they are denying that the Iraq War could spawn any
further terrorism. In short, they have their head up their ass and they're not afraid to show it.

10. Phelps and Co. have been going to military funerals
with signs "God hates Fags" "God hates you".

With some kind of convoluted argument that God is punishing the military personnel because our country tolerates Gays or something? Makes no sense of course - but it does sound like a war protest of a sort.
