Countdown Showing Breathtaking Shots of Devastation
Aerial views of Gulfport, Mississippi (or what used to be Gulfport). I'm practically in tears -- this was truly a Biblical storm. God be with everyone in the path of Katrina.

3. This is just unreal
The Grand Casino was blown clear across the highway! I have been to that casino. It is absolutely huge. I can't even imagine what kind of force would be necessary to lift it up and move it.

4. I have a friend 9 miles from there...
an online from from another forum. He's 9 miles north of Gulfport (in a town just outside Hattiesburg). No one's been able to get through to him. They took all the phones down for emergency use only. Heard from a coworker of his who's been working in upstate NY for 2 weeks. He spoke to his dad yesterday before they took the phones down. Said their town is completely trashed with trees down on houses or houses completely destroyed all over the place. He hasn't been able to get through to anyone in his family since that conversation, though and has no idea how anyone's doing. Horrible, just horrible...
