1. It's too late for God.
:( I am sick, just sick. I'm supposed to be working on a report that's hot for work, and I just cannot.

5. I was still a little optimistic until they said there wasn't anyway
to fix the levees.
Best advice they can give is for people to get higher.
There comes a point when you are as high as you can get.
Then what?

2. Those aerial shots on "Countdown" have just shut me down for the day
I'm still at work but obviously not doing anything. I just feel numb.

4. Remember when the amerikan taliban repbulicons blamed 9/11
on gays and liberals? I think their God just issued his/her rebuttal and has won the debate.

bush*s devaluation of life and invoking God's name has earned his/her wrath.

NOTE: I don't believe in the above last sentence but the talibornagains should have that "thought" shoved down their throats ad naseum, imo.

10. Me too, Ben.
I lived in South Louisiana most of my life. At the time I went to school, we were extensively drilled on the levee system, flood patterns, where water went and how and why. As schoolchildren, we were always told that should either of the levee systems in New Orleans fail, there would be massive flooding and destruction, to the point of destroying the city.

Apparently these things are no longer taught in the Louisiana public schools. I can't believe how slow the powers that be have been in doing what was needful - but then, when you don't have the Louisiana National Guard to drive evacuation vehicles, things do get bogged down.

I am sick. Sick to see that great old lady of a city being inundated. Can't get that Randy Newman song out of my head.

Louisiana - they're trying to wash us away.
Six feet deep in the streets of Evangeline.
