Their resources, manpower, boats and other vehicles could sure as hell come in handy---and face it...would probably do a much better job than our current crop of screw ups in DC.

1. At least Canada has offered help,
even though we don't deserve it for the way our government treats them:

2. Don't you know? We're too good for them.
Or so the "patri-idiot" NeoCon line of thought goes.

3. Chavez mentioned an idea of providing cheap oil to America's poor
No word on how he would go about doing that though.

4. Probably though the 16,000 Citco stations.
Yes they're franchised however I imagine that where there's a will, there's a way.

5. Here's a link to the story about Chavez offering us oil
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20050829/wl_afp/usweathervenezuelaoil_050829235602

"Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez offered to send food and fuel to the United States after the powerful Hurricane Katrina pummeled the US south, ravaging US crude production. "

"Chavez said fuel could be sent to the United States via a Citgo refinery that has not been affected by the hurricane. Citgo is owned by Venezuela's state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA)."

"Last week, Chavez offered discount gasoline to poor Americans suffering from high oil prices and on Sunday offered free eye surgery for Americans without access to health care."
