Bush cites oil in Iraq as reason for fighting
President Bush answered growing anti-war protests yesterday with a fresh reason for American forces to continue fighting in Iraq: protection of the country's vast oil fields that he said would otherwise fall under the control of terrorists.

Appearing at the Naval Air Station North Island to commemorate the anniversary of the Allies' victory over Japan in World War II, Bush compared his resolve now to that of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1940s. He said that America's mission in Iraq is to turn it into a democratic ally just as the U.S. did with Japan after its surrender in 1945.

"We will not rest until victory is America's and our freedom is secure" from al-Qaida and its forces in Iraq led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Bush said. "If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks. They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."

10. Yes, he's trapped. Now he is being forced to tell the truth.
Time to impeach him for all the lies and war crimes.

3. 'otherwise fall under the control of terrorists'
It's called Saudi Arabia, and it is in the hands of terrorists.
But I don't see us fighting for oil there, yet.

5. Aha.....you're getting warmer.
Now, replace the words "Russia and China" instead of terrorists, and you have solved the mystery.

"If China and Russia gain control of Iraq, they would have a lot more access to oil and we would feel threatened. They would seize the oil fields from us". "Which is exactly what we did in 2002".

Stan Goff wrote that "soon, the mask will come off. They will become much more candid about their reasons for going to war".

It looks like he was right.

Bush is trying to tell us something. He's saying, "Look, Americans, we're doing this for YOU. We took that oil so we would continue to rule the world, since that's the only reason we're on top. "Don't you get it?"

7. It's what my grandfather said to me before the invasion.
Something about our quality of life. That was his justification.

Obviously, I wasn't very pleased with him about that.

6. So Saddam' s vast oilfields could come under control
of the terrorists. Then what the hell was wrong when Saddam controlled
those vast oilfields. The real beef the Bush Crime Family had with Saddam was he sold/traded his oil for Euro's and that hurt the US.Dollar, the Crime Family wasn't going to allow Saddam to continue
boosting the value of the Euro...
At least he admitted its about the OIL...
