than Post-9/11 security of our ports, our major cities, and formulating plans in case of a catastrophic terrorist attack (or a natural disaster).

Way to go Right Wingnut Flag-Waving Jerks. Now we know you've DONE NOTHING. And, by the way, so do any actual terrorists who may be tuned in.

Glad you nutjobs have your priorities in order.

2. A very good point- the natural disaster in the Gulf coast...
shows how ill-prepared we remain for ANY disaster- including a massive terrorist attack.

But fortunately, we have kept marriage "sacred."

3. You forgot missing blond teen girls
I spent the afternoon watching Katrina coverage, and turned to Faux, and they had a bunch of talking heads ranting about "the Roberts Nomination"

---great thing to spend time on when there is 50+billion worth of damage, 200+ dead, and one missing American city.

Granted, the "news" media is nothing more than entertainment anymore.

But the Repukes have had control of the House, Senate, and the White House--and they've just waved the flag and done nothing! Nothing!

They get themselves worked up about gays, abortion, Schiavo, and steroids. But nothing that protects us or provides any security.

They paint themselves as being "security conscious" and blah, blah, blah.

Katrina proves they've actually done NOTHING. In fact, they've misled people into thinking the "the adults are in charge" and all that bullsh*t.

6. One thing I don't see
Is a responsible adult in charge---you are correct there.

Chertoff had a press conf. this afternoon, but I really didn't see much after--the Gov of Louisiana, Kathleen Blanco, seems to be giving the best info right now, but LA Govt seems a bit overwhelmed. I am not even going to get into dems or repubs right now, but Trent Lott got his house destroyed, and even it would be ok if we could have him as an overall coordinator or something---

Someone has to step up to the plate here, and do the leadership thing. It aint Bush or Cheney thats for damn sure.
