"We need to save those people now" |
|
Former mayor making urgent plea on CNN. You could hear the emotion in his voice, begging for the resources of the federal government to save the city and all of those people.
Are they really going to write off a city and thousands of people?

1. The chimp has told the poor folks in the superdome not to shit. |
|
I'm sorry for being so graphic but it's obvious there's no place for their excrement to go... Where are all the helicopters and boats to get these people out of this concentration camp???
Is this America in 2005???

3. Remember that they were told told bring 3-4 days of food |
|
Is the NG providing meals, water? I know they got 1 MRE when they came in...who is feeding them?
And man, 3 days without a bath and I would be a walking funkball.

They planned on putting people there BEFORE |
|
the disaster. Why weren't more accomodations made? I know they are walled in by water, but surely they can airlift in water, food and other necessary supplies.
I can't imagine what conditions are like in there.

8. I thought 300,000 MREs had been delivered. I'm sure that's |
|
what one report had said. I remember thinking that was 5 days if they only had 20K people in the Dome. The stupid ass homeland security guy was laughing when he said "Well, I guess these people will know how our guys in Iraq are eating." That was right before he said if it wasn't Sunday, he'd be out buying oil futures.

2. Oh, my God, why does he have to beg??? |

Why is the federal government sitting on their hands? I've never seen a disaster in the US handled so poorly.

5. That Mayor was best interview yet! |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 08:38 AM by hnsez
We need to get his interview everywhere
This guy was the best, most adament public official I have heard yet demanding Bush Act NOW to send the entire resources of the Federal Government and Military NOW to stop the flooding.
He said the Governor and Mayor do not have the resources. That the Corps of Engineers is not enough! We need MORE help NOW!
"Friday may be too late!"
NEED VIDEO!
or transcript...
