NY Air National Guard to the rescue.........
Found this little blip in my local morning paper.

NY Air National Guard 105th Military Airlift Wing based at Stewart Airport, Newburgh N.Y. is on the way as of last night. The 105th operates the giant C-5A cargo planes. One plane was already at March AFB in Ca. to pickup relief supplies and others awaiting departure. The NY Air guard is awaiting clearance to use Keesler AFB in Biloxi Miss. which was heavily damaged during the hurricane.

The 105th has a fleet of about 16 or so aircraft here, so perhaps they will also be used to fly people from the affected areas to shelter. They have been involved in every major disaster, effort or military operation worldwide for years. I will say they are the finest airlift command operation in the nation. They are an amazing group, lots of friends there. Go 105.....!!!!!
