In one 24-hour period here at DU (and in my email), three separate democraticunderground.com denizens, wether purposely on their part or not, demonstrated in different ways to me and reminded me of the significances of Democratic Underground, (despite any minor flaws the site might have).

I thought I would be presumptive (which I do all the time and then feign ignorance) and post it separately as a peu de plaisir for everyone. Hope they make your day.

Lorien posted this in my thread from yesterday the topic of which was speculation on Bush's poll numbers post-Katrina:

I talked with a formally apolitical friend yesterday someone I haven't seen in two years. Anyway, right off the bat he says "I HATE Bush! I can't stand looking at him or listening to him! All he does is LIE! And he's too much of a coward to talk to that woman in Crawford or go to New Orleans. He's ruining the country! If someone walks into my office and tells me they're a republican, I won't speak to them. They make me sick"! I was floored, especially considering that he never used to vote! (but he did last year-for Kerry).

I have been on DU during this entire catastrophe down south, and I've taken great advantage of the Search function... I have contributed to the Red Cross as well as an animal-rescue organization at www.noahswish.org

I hope that will count for passing on your kindness. I am personally heartbroken by what's going on down there, and thought it would be a good place to "pay it forward".

And from Ann (jboris1?) a serious comment that made me laugh as she emailed the DU Panic Room concerning the server problems. It sums it all up nicely, don't you think?:
