Will We Get Any Foreign Help For Katrina? |
|
We need it; that jackass in DC can't coordinate shit. Look at the disasterous handling of 9/11.

1. This is just a RW talking point |
|
Our country has what it needs. Other countries have offered. We have declined. It allows them to be portrayed as being generous, it allows us to keep our national pride by not requesting charity. Can we stop with this point already?

7. You must have missed the wars about this yesterday |
|
it was a Fox/Rush talking point yesterday. It is still being pursued, trying to paint the US as a martyr who gives and never receives when it simply isn't true. Other countries offer--we turn them down. It's the way it works. Nobody is leaving us in the cold. It's just something to get the Bushbots in an uproar over.

well I never listen to Fox or Rush. :D
But if people knew that others offered help, I think it would undercut a rightwing talking point.

If you have any links on these offers it would be great. We may need them to rub some right winger noses in. thanx

whenever there is an earthquake or a hurricane, but the US usually turns it down.
So far Canada, Venezuela, Russia and France have made public announcements to that effect....both sympathy and aid.
Others may well have offered, but those 4 I know for sure.

19. I recall once Russia offered to build a bridge in some small town |
|
These people needed a new bridge and could not get the state to do it. It was sort of funny and I do not think they ever did it but they may have sent the money for all I know.
