An email I received from a "businessman" today
where are our lib friends now. Corp. America has chipped in big
time...one of the first was that mean monster WAL MART. On a ground
level is Radio Shack. One of my friends runs one in Erwin NC. His
old boss is in LA and has lost his house. HE has called all his old
underlings to get a truck. it will be driven down on Sat filled with
stuff given by the people who work at Radio shack to be passed out to
thoes who need it. Cheap Junk is giving a bunch and my friend is
going to drive it to Fayettville NC Friday. The truck is only a
28footer. I know that we are not the only ones but it is a big
problem and it is heart warming to see giants starting to help. Just
out of their good heart. Now lets talk about our good friends in
Germany, FraNCE AND OTHER PLACES that bad mouth the US. It will take
years to get things back to normal. Besides money to the Red Cross
and the Salvation Army a few prayers would also help. Dan and the
gang

1. How do these people know what has been donated by whom?
How do they know how many of the private donations come from liberals and how many come from conservatives? These people are in la la land.

2. I don't expect help from Germany, France, etc. Shrub told them
he didn't need them, and he can do it all alone! I can't even fault those countries. How often does someone have to tell you to get out of the way 'cause we don't need you, before you say, OK, go ahead!

VIENNA, Austria -- From papal prayers to telegrams from China, the world reacted with an outpouring of compassion Wednesday for the American victims of Hurricane Katrina, even moved to offer aid at the sight of what nature could do to a wealthy and powerful country.

...

Throughout Europe, concerned citizens were keeping a close eye on events as they lamented the loss of life and the damage caused to New Orleans, often described as one of the North America's most "European" cities.

French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder sent messages of sympathy to U.S. President George W. Bush. Chirac, who has famously quarreled with Bush over the Iraq war, addressed his letter, "Dear George."

Pope Benedict XVI said he was praying for victims of the "tragic" hurricane while China's President Hu Jintao expressed his "belief that that the American people will definitely overcome the natural disaster and rebuild their beautiful homeland."

5. This is the email I'm composing to him
For your information, Bush could have prevented the flooding by NOT taking money from the shoring up of the levees and giving it to the illegal war in Iraq. As for Walmart, they are a multi-billion dollar company, for them to give a million dollars is like me giving $1. As for the libs, they are usually the ones who clean up after the mess you guys have created, by making sure rich people get richer. Where are all your mega churches? How come they aren't pitching in? My friends are opening up their homes and taking in strangers, and they don't have to send emails to all their "customers" telling them what good people they are for doing that. And, as for the big guys giving, it's all a tax write off, and you know that.

While, I haven't bought a lot for you, you can be sure that I won't be buying anything anymore.

12. Small suggestion
"you guys have created, by making sure rich people get richer. Where are all your mega churches? How come they aren't pitching in? My friends..."

-------------------

Take out the comma after 'created', it changes the intent of your sentence.

8. What about the corporations that lobbies for a war that diverted
so much money to the War on Iraq that NO didn't have 20 million to fix it levees?

What about the corporations that lobby for a tax code that means the only help people can get is from random acts of kindness?

Nobody thinks the problem is that corporations don't have a heart when the shit hits the fan. But people are right to ask whether corporate greed and political power at a macro level is hurting America.

11. Are you sure they were buying stuff? I heard people were in line
HOPING that WM would open! I don't remember if it was on CNN or MSNBC. I've switched between them for a few hours.

I'm sure WM is trying to open for several reasons, but I haven't heard they've done it yet.

10. Thank goodness the corporations are taking care of this.

Because you don't see that liberal big government in there anywhere. Where is the military? Where is FEMA? Where are all those liberal programs that were supposed to rush in during times of emergency?

Oh. Wait. They got there first.

Nevermind.
