"I thought Iraq was about the oil"
The white reporter from CNBC was making an on-the-spot interview of a black gasoline customer pumping gas in her car. The price was up to 2.99. The woman said she is not filling up her tank, only putting $6.30 -- enough to get her home. He asked what she thought about that and her answer may have surprised him because he panned away from her quickly. She said (paraphrasing), "I thought Iraq was about the oil. I don't know what happened with that. Maybe someone should ask George Bush."

1. It is about the oil.
Stopping Iraqi oil, to be specific. This makes the American oil leases held by Bushitler and his cronies, much more valuable. $3.00 per gallon oil? Mission accomplished!

3. Isn't it amazing that Bushbots thought voting for "Oil Men" meant...
... lower gas prices?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Idiots.

2. It was about the oil, but BushCo doesn't care about the price at the pump
They didn't do it for you and me. He wanted to make sure that Oil companies and the US military have all the oil they need to stay rich and powerful. He doesn't want to keep the price of gas down. Record gas prices = record profits for BushCo. If they control the oil when the price goes sky hight, then they get RICH like you wont believe. It will also make our military that much more powerful as other nations' armies will not be able to afford gas for tanks, jet fuel, power to produce steel, etc.

4. They thought they could get it
the insurgents keep knocking it offline.

They should either take the oil by overwhelming force or get the hell out - one or the other.

8. They make sucky imperialists, don't they?
If they want to be imperialists then they should BE imperialists already. But they can't even do THAT right. They're half-assed imperialists. So they might as well leave.

That's what I meant.

5. Chris Matthews once thought the Republicans wanted cheap oil.
I remember back in 2001 he said, "Basically, Republicans want cheap oil.". He couldn't have been more wrong. What they want is to control the sources of oil so they can maximize profits.

6. She was partially right...
Iraq is about Bushco having control of the oil. Always has been.
Getting the oil and controlling the oil are two completely different things.

And we just get to keep on paying.

10. Well Fox News got it right....
It's about having CONTROL over the oil, and Bush's handlers like Scooter Libby don't have full control over the oil yet so Israel and the rest aren't happy.

In fact, Iraqis keep blowing up all the oil because they don't want it stolen ANYMORE, or anything else taken.

This gave rise to the fueling insurgency over 300,000 and counting, and there you have it.

We are thieves and terrorists on their land, and they flat out don't want US THERE!!!!!

What they want is our people gone, and mediators from both sides to come in and finish their constitution example: The United Nations.
