people stranded in NO is absolutely stunning . . . beyond those visible and pleading for help, I can't imagine how many are stranded in enclosed, windowless attics . . . for them, it's probably too late already . . . the loss of life here is going to be unfathomable . . .

on edit: the fact that most of those stranded are people of color is more than disturbing . . .
