Why is gasoline price gouging all of a sudden legal? |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 04:17 PM by Gman
In normal times (i.e. when the GOP and closely associated corporations did not control the federal government) when a disaster strikes, the authorities are very fast to come down very hard on those that attempt to profit from price gouging, especially on gasoline. Until now, there has never been any tolerance for gasoline price gouging.
Now, with Bush, an alleged although failed oilman, in the White House, the American public is completely fair game for gouging as high a price as they can possibly get.
I beg to know when is enough, enough of this administration? If the "let them eat cake" response to Katrina from Bush and the open season on American consumers is not enough, just where in this hell hole of a country will the American public draw the line and take a stand.
If not now, it's never.
Ya basta!

1. More $$$ for his buddies... |
|
It's not the stations that are profiting, it's the oil companies. And they'll probably get a BS tax break out of the profits too.

4. I'm waiting for the footage of all the price-gougers |

Surely later on this evening Rita Crosby will twist her harpie fact into a grimace and rail about those "disgusting" price gougers who are "running wild in the streets."

7. It's always been legal. I just found out it will take 4 weeks for the oil |
|
from the reserve to be turned into gas. All this year, the oil prices went up in the ME, and the next day my local gas station prices went up - one week it was 30 cents. Seems like gouging to me.

The have-mores are laughing all the way to the bank.
Just like when they profited off of 9/11 and our two wars.

Don't worry, we'll see the prices stabilize as soon as Bush and his cronies run out of banks and firms to manage their filthy money. Well, I wouldn't hold my breath..
