Katrina: Special Reports On NBC, ABC, CBS, CNBC, TWC Tonight

NBC News will present a special edition of "Dateline" at 9pm tonight. Brian Williams will anchor from New Orleans. "The special will include reports on the latest developments along the Gulf Coast, and take an in-depth look at the long road to recovery from one of America's most destructive storms," the press release says.

ABC News will present "In The Path of Katrina" at 10pm tonight. Elizabeth Vargas will anchor from Gulfport It will "feature reports from ABC News correspondents positioned throughout the battered Gulf Coast region."

CNBC will present a live one-hour business special "Hurricane Katrina: Road to Recovery" at 7pm tonight. Conan will move to 8pm, the P.R. says.

> Update: 2:15pm: CBS News will present a 48 Hours special, "Katrina's Fury," from 8 to 8:30 p.m. "The program will be anchored from New Orleans by CBS News Chief White House Correspondent John Roberts, who has been covering the story there since Sunday."

> Update: 2:20pm: "The Weather Channel is having a special presentation as well at 9p headed by Jim Cantore."

F'in MSM networks finally woke up. Guess they were on vacation with Chimpy!

3. I'll watch Cantore
he did a great job of telling people to "get out" before the storm. On one remote broadcast from Biloxi Cantore had the cameraman take a shot of the casino that's done up to look like a Pirate ship, and said, "..take a good look at it because if this storm hits, that's the last you'll see of it!"

He also asked another television news crew if they were "nuts" when they told him they were planning on staying on the oceanfront as the storm came in.

In my opinion, Cantore is doing a good job of educating people about the hazards of these storms. Hats off to Jim Cantore and The Weather Channel :applause:
