The Gov. of Texas just said, "by the grace of God the storm spared Houston..." He probably didn't mean anything by it. But it irks me. Like they are implying that the godless somehow are hit.
I know this isn't necessarily what was meant, but it bugs the hell out of me, when people use these times to evoke this image of God sparing some and destroying others....

Makes it sound like god blessed them by not throwing a hurricane at them. :eyes:
I know people usually don't mean anything by it, too, but still...I hate it.

That's just the way it sounds. I guess it's one of those phrases some just take for granted, without really thinking or considering the implications of it.
:shrug:
Thankfully, the people of NOLA don't have television and couldn't hear such comments. Not a good thing at all that they are in the midst of such a disaster, but I'm glad in a weird way, they can't hear the way they are being discussed at the moment.
