Doesn't the military have units that will make potable water out of
pond scum? Where the hell are they? Iraq? Why aren't they dropping rubber rafts from airplanes and letting folks who can rescue themselves and report where the people who can't are? Why aren't they dropping leaflets telling people how to use sunlight and plastic sheeting to distill water? Who is in charge?

2. This is more than pond scum. This is chemical alley stuff.
I thought about this too -- send some water purification units, even those little ones you buy for camping --- ANYTHING!

But can they decontaminate the water from the chemicals too?

Think about it.

If they had enough personnel to deal with this, would LA be soliciting private citizens with boats? Would we be sending only four navy ships out? Only one hospital ship?

It's dawning on me that they're lying about how many people they have to send.

6. R. Rhodes pointed out that
the hospital ship only has 1,000 beds is that true? If so, that's not enough for 3 States!
