it was two different news agencies??? Sorta takes the "gotcha" out of the story somewhat.

with different style manuals and ways of referring to things.

It rather eviscerates the story; one's left trying to generalize to all the media based upon one, non-contrastive incident from AP.

One could just as easily claim that it shows that all French lack any sense of racism, clearly a counter-factual claim.
