Can we now put 9/11 in perspective ?
Can we now see how our leaders manipulated our country into war with lies and deception? Can we now see the price we pay for such decisions? What is more important ? The "freedom" of the Iraqi people or the "lives" of the American people? Will we now look at 9/11 differently after this catastrophe?

If so, perhaps that will be the one bright spot out of this entire disaster? If we can come back to our senses and stop the insane war against the world? If we can see that our first priority is taking care of our own, rather than dying to give others "freedom" halfway around the world, then that may be one positive from this? Perhaps we need to fight for our own "freedom"? This has been a total, dismal failure of our government. Can we finally put 9/11 into perspective?

1. Maybe people will see the value of electing politicians

who will work for the people, instead of working for themselves and campaign contributors (private corporations and defense contractors).

I hope this will put 9/11 into perspective. Bush has milked it long enough.

3. If that happens, it might offer a ray of hope behind all the clouds...?
People may not look at 9/11 the same way after this?

2. How about the "War on Terror" in perspective?
Will Bush ever be able to even try to justify the continued drain of American blood and treasure trying to fight a conceptual tactic? Can anyone even think that the WOT is in any way a real threat to us when the magnitude of an environment natural disaster like Katrina dwarfs anything that any terrorists could possibly throw at us?

If the whole WOT is not completely bankrupt and discredited, we, as a people, are more stupid than I thought.

4. I Agree
Not too long ago, I wanted the troops to come home from Iraq, but gradually. After seeing what has happened in NO & elsewhere, I have changed my mind. I want the troops home *now*, period. Our people need help *here*. Maybe if Bush hadn't been spending so much money on Iraq, this tragedy wouldn't have been as bad. He has been taking money from the cities to spend on his stupid war. It's time for it to stop. Help our people first.

5. Amen. We were emasculated, but not devastated.
