List of corporate contributors to disaster relief |
|
http://money.cnn.com/2005/08/31/news/fortune500/firms_hurricane/index.htm/Why is Microsoft not on this list? I sure as hell hope that they're planning a BIG frickin' donation! I will be really p.o.'d if they don't.

1. While I won't list the name of my company, they are donating money |
|
to relief efforts. Apparently droves of people in our company wrote to the President and encouraged him to send money and whatever we could.
I work for a Fortune 500 company so I am hoping they make at least a donation of a few million.

2. ... add little ole' Conseco to that list ... |
|
... for once I'm proud of my greedy insurance company ... they're giving a donation (I didn't get the specifics); matching employee donations, and have been encouraging those with Red Cross training to mobilize - their jobs will be here when they get back.

9. Actually, they can probably have the car back |
|
After they dig it out of the mud, that is.

4. Thanks! This is why I drink coke (apart from the taste) $5M |
|

in cash PLUS water, vs. Pepsi $500,000 in water and cash. Doesn't PepsiCo market heavily to blacks?
Coke - it's the real thing...remember when we were lobbying for either of them to send something to Camp Casey? How much bigger is this?
Edit the amount...sorry, I had a lead finger with the zeros. Still, the disparity is significant.

12. I work for a large corporation that is not on the list...but |
|
There will be a large corporate donation, probably to Red Cross
There will be an employee matching/fundraising effort companywide for the victims.
There already IS a disaster relief in place for our customers who are impacted by Katrina. Special teams have been established for those impacted.
All day Tuesday and Wednesday, company wide, small groups of 20 to 25 at a time were pulled into meetings w/management to emphasize that we are expected to be sensitive to the callers we have from the Gulf Coast area.
There is a separate relief fund w/100% corporate matching to employee donations for our EMPLOYEES in the affected area.
Oh Yeah, I work for a mortgage loan company. We are talking about their homes, and their payments, and their insurance, and the rebuilding
