will Amercan NG troops sent to NO kill American citizens... |
|
...to protect "property?" Just how is that different from Chinese troops killing fellow citizens in Tiananmen Square to protect a different ideology, or in other words, "to maintain law and order?" How would that be any less shameful? The lizard brains have taken over.

Is that what you want? I have a sneaking suspicion its what the White House wants, because then they can lay down even stricter oppressive fascist laws on us.
There was no need for looting and killing and raping by these criminal thugs. There should have been immediate massive National Guard presence in NO. But of course we know where the Nat Guard was. That said, most of the looters were criminals. Plain and simple. And if I had a business or home there I would NOT hesitate to shoot those thugs.

3. anarchy is the result when desperate people have nowhere to turn.... |

Those "criminal thugs" are people marginalized by folks who put their "business or home" above the long-term best interests of everyone else.

5. Most of the looters aren't criminals. They're people who need food |

2. Then they will have to face other troops... |
|
The ones watching from afar, who when they get home, will search out and destroy those who helped kill their families.
Remember, there are family members watching this from Iraq. Do you think they would for a moment sit there as the shots started to ring out?

4. so now we blame-- and then kill-- the victims of this mess.... |

What on earth is worth preserving in NO if we do it at the cost of the lives of people who are simply responding to the terrible situation they are in?

8. And if a soldier shoots an armed gang member? |

Is that murder? If they are fired upon, are they not to engage?
It's not that simple, Mike.
I hope none of them will kill to save property, but peoples lives are in danger and not from the soldiers.
If NO cannot be secured, no relief workers will be allowed in.
