***ATTN DUers: Fast on Monday?***

Like many here, I'm a good distance away from NOLA and other affected areas ... feeling utterly helpless. I've given a donation already--a meager amount, but it's what I could spare and I hope it will help. I think it would be a great sign of unity if on Monday, we fast. I know everyone's heart is aching tonight as the darkness is upon that region, knowing that little, if any, help is getting to these desperate people ...

So if you can, please abstain from eating on Monday (or another day if you prefer, I just think it would be a stronger statement if we all decided on one day) and if possible, donate the money you would have used for food to a reputable charity.

Anyone with me? Pass it on if you can--if even a couple hundred people donate $10-20 it would make a difference, as well as show our support.
