5. She kept saying what the government is doing
and Cooper was talking about the bodies in the street - one was being nibbled by rats - and wanted to know who's to blame. Asked whether she can feel the anger.

She said yes, and that there will be time and place to set blames but not now, that now the country needs to come together.

What did he expect her to say?

I've heard several of them - including mild mannered Ted Koepel - talking to the head of FEMA with the same results. The reporters are angry, wanting someone's head while the Washingotnians trying to say that they did everything that they could.

11. The country needs to come together?
What the hell is that supposed to mean? Nominated for the most over used ridiculous platitude in the political lexicon.

8. Looks like the server is overloaded.
Cooper basically said that it was "absurd for the politicians to be congratulating each other while there were bodies in the streets".

He actually started to cry later in the segment. I watched it this afternoon.

10. None of our 'leaders' deserve thanks.
Whether it's a governor, a president, a Congressman, or Agency heads. There is simply a lack of dedication exhibited by our impotent 'leaders'. The American gut has collapsed. I have more repsect for the 'looters' who stole to give sustinence to the people who are suffering because our 'leadership' is gutless and bound up in legal protocal and endless phony rhetoric. For Gods' sake the governor sounding like she was gracefully passing thanks to her supporters at the academy awards. It has been heartening to see the anger and frustration of the reporters who are on the scene and know that we Americans who can only witness this tragedy via TV can only shed tears for those poor souls who are needlessly suffering in New Orleans. Simply, this should never have happened.
