Oh Good Lord, Lee Greenwood! |
|
I just saw on ESPN that before the Northwestern State Louisiana-Monroe football game they trotted out Lee Greenwood to belt out God Bless The USA!
some questions... 1. Is Lee actually thrilled when there is a disaster? 2. haven't these poor people suffered enough? 3. Lee what are you and your President doing to "defend her still today"?

This fucking guy has gotten more mileage out of one crappy song than I care to think about. It never fails they pull him out of mothballs whenever something bad happens.

I should have known Lee Greenwood would show up someplace with his stupid song. Is there no tragedy he is afraid to exploit?

4. I had a dream once ... |
|
It was the dream of a naive kid who heard that song on the radio one day, turned the dial, then heard it again a few minutes later on the other station, prompting him to turn it off. Over the next several months, that kid found himself unable to get away from the song since his choir director had decided it would be the finale' song of the Spring concert.
But songs come and go, and there simply wasn't anything about this song special enough for it to last. So, the dream was that I could endure for awhile, and eventually I'd never have to hear it again.
One more dream, shattered. I can't believe that bile is still around 20 years later.
