Here is the REASON the Press is Finally AWAKE:
1. They have been in NO throughout the entire thing
2. They can get in AND AROUND the city
3. The greatest MILITARY in the WORLD isn't getting there or as mobile as the PRESS? The B.S. Meters are going off the charts.
4. The Gov't CAN NOT Gag the press like they always do about the WAR by claiming reasons of National Security

THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF THE BUSH REGIME!

55. FAILS TO MEET MINIMUM STANDARDS
Unable to complete tasks in a timely manner. Fails to keep supervisors (the American people) apprised of changes in workload or special circumstances impacting job performance. Wastes resources. Does not treat superiors or subordinates with dignity or respect. Is not honest or forthright; conducts himself in an opportunistic and untruthful fashion. Cowardly in the face of national emergencies. Shifts blame to others. Lacks work ethic. Excessive vacationing has jeopardized the integrity of his position.

Recommended for early termination from this position. Commence impeachment proceedings ASAP.

There's his fucking eval--I'd love to read it to him, roll it up, and poke him in the eye with it.

11. and people are dying on camera
The Tulane hospital has placed their dead outside the building because the mortuary is flooded and the bodies are starting to smell.

That came from a caller to Rita Cosby's MSNBC show. Caller has been reporting to her nightly. That's the former Foxnews Rita Cosby.

Too damned much for anybody, even Karl Rove, to cover up.

I would just add an obvious point... that the media can see the disconnect between the reality and the Coward's administration bullshit.

And it pisses the media folks off when the admin creeps try to stonewall them or deny the disconnect or whatever.

Anyway, I am thankful the media has finally grown some spine.

16. Tonight on the local LA news.....
there was a reporter who was there in NO until he came back too LA today. He was livid on what was being said and what is the truth of what is really going on.

One thing he talked about was the story about Cop's Looting. He was there the story really was there were some kids and some adults that had become sick in the hotel they all had holed up in. A Doctor gave the Cop's a list of Drugs he needed for these people and He asked the Cop's to go in that Walgreens that had already been looted and get the drugs. The Cop's did not Loot they were there to keep people alive.

The Reporter was on KTLA 10:00 news in Los Angeles.

At least the "news" reporting. Actually their Shepherd Smith has been doing a pretty credible job of reporting from NO ....better than much of the CNN reporting. He's been showing dead bodies on the side of the road just left there. He's been getting in the face of NO cops and asking them what they are doing....he's been very critical of how FEMA and the various other red tape people are handling the situation.

press about their own complicity with respect to poverty and racism. I'm stunned. This is a major paradigm shift in American media. 39. I think it comes down to two things...
1. They are personally witnessing it. No human being can be exposed to something like this and remain unchanged. I agree. The BS Meters are off the chart and under such circumstances it just cannot be ignored.

2. Many of them have been personally affected even without the presence factor. I watched a CNN reporter this morning admirably get through a report only to realize that her family's home had been wiped out in Mississippi. I was impressed she was even making the report at all.

Katrina is going to be a turning point in many ways and I think a turn back towards a free press may be one.

The reporters who are there see the suffering, and smell the dead.
