Why were the buses going into the Superdome empty with no food & supplies
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 01:59 AM by LaPera
on board?

If hundreds of buses were coming in to pick up people to take them to the Astrodome...Why wasn't there food, water, supplies, doctors, etc. on board the buses for the people left behind in the Superdome.

Why did the buses roll in empty?

1. It does seem like they WANT a survival riot, doesn't it?
It seems to go beyond simple incompetence.

7. Using common sense will drive you crazy with Bushco in charge.
Amazing ain't it? FEMA claims it can't get into NOLA to provide supplies...but empty buses travel from Texas to NOLA just fine.

8. Thats's a damn fine question
was Houston out of food and water?

if the buses turn around there--is it too much to have them wait 15 minutes (Southwest turns planes in 15 minutes) to have them load up on supplies going back to NOLA?

Even if they dont fill them up all the way just 1000 lbs or so per trip could add that much more---

10. because you don't work for FEMA!
just like the rule in a restaurant kitchen- never walk in or out empty handed!

Why doesn't the Red Cross or FEMA give the reporters cases of water when they go into the inner parts of the city to give away? They seem to have no trouble finding and reaching the people stranded.

11. The Object Is To Get People Out
I haven't heard any reports, but it appears the evacuation of the Superdome is going somewhat camly...and thank goodness for that. I heard that each bus had AC and was stocked with water and MREs.

The deal here is to get this city evacuated and ASAP. They come in empty but they're leaving full...and that's the key here. And there's thousands more that are still trying to get out.

12. takes time to unload buses full of supplies, the object is to get ppl OUT
as quickly as they can.

Since the LA National Guard is in Baghdad, they don't have the manpower to keep the operation moving and unload bus loads of supplies at the same time.

Those ppl are desperate to get the FUCK out of there, better to get them onto a clean air conditioned bus ASAP then have them stand around waiting for it to be unloaded.

You cant just give a desperate crowd of thousands a few cases of water without any orginzation and security, thats just asking for a riot.

Also, I've seen reports that the buses have food and water on board for the passengers as they evacuate anyways.
