Why do they keep saying that they're dealing with two disasters
A hurricane AND a flood? Don't they know that it FLOODS after a hurricane? Weren't they aware that New Orleans sits below sea level in a bowl? Even before the levee broke (which they claim they couldn't predict), the city was flooded.

NEWSFLASH TO THE BEAUROCRATS

Hurricanes bring rain. Rain causes flooding.

1. Well, that would be three disasters.

Hurricane, flood, and BushCo as president.

2. Yeah, but they aren't dealing with the third one
They're still in denial on that one.

3. How can
they stand after this? Their behavior has been intolerable, insufferable, and just plain incompetent. Bush must be impeached.

5. Dang, you beat me to the punch line...
Only it's not funny, because you're absolutely right... :(

WWL said 100 people died in St Bernard parish today from dehydration, exposure, loss of medication... These were people who'd been RESCUED from rooftops... They died after, when they couldn't get supplies...

6. But those aren't the two that they're counting
They're saying that the hurricane was one, the flood was another, as if those things were not related at all.

9. I think they mean
the second was the levee breaking which wasn't really a natural disaster but an incompetent president disaster.

7. Trying to imply they handled the hurricane part well.
Then what's the excuse for Mississippi? Those people also weren't given water quickly.

I think they are trying to separate the two so they can imply that they did or would have handled the hurricane well, but damn, New Orleans had a flood (and who could have predicted that? -- a duet by Condi & Bush), so they were daunted by that unexpected flood.

That excuse can't work because the water receded quickly in Mississippi. They did not serve those people well either.

10. But like one astute victim said
why the hell can't the drop them food and water from airplanes like they've done everywhere else. Why indeed.

8. It's their way of deferring blame - ALREADY
They want us to not point fingers and 'politicize' the situation. Meanwhile, they make excuses.

They say that they didn't know it was going to be this bad. They want to make us believe that just because the flooding technically happened after the hurricane had passed, they weren't prepared, and that's not their fault. Bullshit.

11. Good luck on deferring blame
even Joe Scarborough was PO'd tonight about the total fuck-up way this is being handled. I saw the FEMA head hammered by more than one newscaster tonight. What a douchebag! Trying to blame the victims! I wonder if the snipers are black bag types used to give them an excuse for their late intervention. Nothing would be beyond their scope of evil.

12. Hurricane and Flood... Or maybe Lousiana and Mississippi as 2 different-
states. Or maybe that old standby thing of search and rescue and then "recovery" or maybe it's something like black and white, rich and poor, etc. Who knows? They were probably scripted to say only certain things at certain times to maintain total psychological control over the population to keep absolute rage from spilling into the streets. They took too damn long to save the people and now they seem to wanna kill them instead. They never brought the food and the water so now they are just gonna kill them. It seems.
