Fifty thousand people dead?
If this is true, if this is one-fiftieth true, the second half of the emergency session of Congress had better be aimed at impeachment.

I'm sick of this.

2. I think that sounds about right to me me.
They certainly don't want anyone to kow how bad it is. FEMA's going Rambo Top Secret, they didn't do that with Hurrucane Andrew. It must be very, very bad.

BTW, are you quoting someone? I've been saying that since yesterday, but has someone getting air time or print space said that?

5. Ray Taliaferro just said it on KGO radio, SF.
Listen at kgo.com (radio side).

His source didn't sound solid, but none of them do at this point

3. it's not impossible
it has gone more than 72 hours after the disaster

72 hours is the "magic" limit

and help has been a trickle

4. Well it was predicted that if a hurricane
this size were to hit NO, the deaths would be at 100,000. I bet it reaches that. Of course the government knew this, that's why nothing was (or is being) done. Also the media probably will not be allowed to report the full number.

Bodies would be every where by now, news video could not even be broadcast.

17. With so many houses destroyed?
Even a 1/4 of fifty thousand bodies that were pushed out of houses or buildings, they would be everywhere.

18. It could be true...but perhaps (hopefully) not.
Remember on 9-11 there were estimates of 25-30k (in some cases more) dead. The actual number did not approach those levels, fortunately.

20. it's AT LEAST 50,000 . . . probably much more . . .
and a large percentage of these deaths were preventable . . .

BushCo must be completely dismantled and ground into sand . . .

21. This is just a wild ass guess, no one has a handle on the deaths yet
When we get the number it is going to large. But there is no reason to trust any guess about the number of deaths at this time.
