2. I predict he will descend into the midst of military men.
This could get ugly if he goes into throngs of people.

3. I think he is going to Biloxi on the ground
There are not thousands of starving angry black folks there. There is no way he is landing in NO. No Way.

4. I think he should get the hell out of there ...
and get back to DC and do his job.

Putting him on the ground is a logistical nightmare, compounding a "Hell on Earth" situation.

Perhaps they should take the resources necessary to put Boy George on the ground and use them to ACTUALLY HELP PEOPLE.

Cheers
Drifter

 He needs this to jump his poll #s. That's all this is about, otherwise he would've have left for Camp David last night.

6. They should drop in in the water
A helicopter drop right into one of the flooded streets of NOLA. In fact, drop the whole lot of them there. It would free up some housing for the victims if they could get to DC.

17. I was there too. I was within a few feet of him.
Moron* will have a mile cleared around him. He doesn't want to get the stink of the great unwashed on him. If any closer they would tear him apart.

colossal failure*.

10. carefully selected victims
I think we all know what to expect on the news tonight.
A somber, "caring" bush comforting carefully selected, and politically correct, victims. Hopefully the news won't buy it.
No election forthcoming though, so don't expect the repeat of w & jeb slinging cases of water into SUV's.

11. Is anyone sure he'll still come?
And, more to the point, what fucking good is it going to do for him to come? Please, tell me. What can him going there in person possibly do? It's wasting fuel, it's wasting people resources - it's senseless!

12. Whatever happened to President as "Chief Consoler"...
and morale booster? I thought "the people" were supposed to be able to rally around him for support, comfort, and aid in times of need and disaster.

He sure put on a great show right after 9/11 when Americans were all pumped up on Jingo-drenalin. We were ready to kick some ass. Now it's just Mother Nature who has kicked our own ass... doesn't do much for the old "patriotic fervor" syndrome.

Funny how ineffectual the little Tinpot Dictator is in the face of this kind of disaster. :eyes:

14. A KHOU reporter mentioned that this morning.
He was speaking for New Orleans. After repeating some of the criticisms of the Feds, he spoke about the Photo Op. And pointed out that W is usually shielded from dissent.

Also--since the President has recommended that everybody be prudent about gas usage--how much fuel will Airforce 1 burn?
