How do we know that oil we buy really goes to the Strategic Reserve? |
|
Just a tinfoil hat moment here; How do we know that oil purchased for the Strategic Reserve program is really being pumped down that hole and not diverted to Bush's friends at taxpayer expense?

3. SPR empties the Treasury to fill Chevron's bank accounts |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 07:18 AM by leveymg
The biggest SPR supplier is Chevron, Condi's old boss. Bush used 9/11 to buy tens of billions of dollars of oil at escalating prices to fill the bunkers. This takes crude off the market and drives up the price.
Another problem. The SPR is not refined product. It will take months for any of it to reach gas stations and home furnaces.
It's been a lose-lose proposition for the taxpayer, but one of the largest windfalls for the oil industry.
I want my money back.
