"The rampup was not as rapid as we needed."
"I asked for everything I could ask for." On Tuesday.

Miles O'Brian is grilling the Gov. of LA on TV and she's starting to wig out.

1. The very FACT that she is in a SUIT in a STUDIO
pisses me off. This interview should be coming from the GROUND..she should have a workshirt and jeans and GLOVES on.

Get your ASS out there...you can set up mobile command, you can DO SOMETHING besides being obtuse dammit!

2. how f**cking stupid is THAT???
do you honestly expect her to be more productive in a 'workshirt, jeans and gloves' than she can be trying to do from her office? or advocating for the people from a studio where people can hear her? Get some fucking perspective.

In 2001, FEMA ranked a major hurricane strike on New Orleans as “among the three likeliest, most castastrophic disasters facing this country.” Bush slashed hurricane funding anyway. August 29, 2005 10:19

4. Katrina exposes the dangers of the concept of ramping-up
No one wants to spend money on preparedness.

Too bad biological demands of survival can't be put on hold while governments ramp-up their efforts over the period of 3-4 days.
