AAAGGGHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 07:36 AM by Pacifist Patriot
If you don't want to hear a frustrated rant pass this one on by. My heart is pounding so I need to get this out in writing or I am going to explode.

1. I am pissed that policy changes enabled the destruction to be worse than it would have been otherwise. Wetland protection, Levee improvements, Global warming ignored, Gas prices spiraling......

2. I am pissed that our Commander in Thief has not only fucked up by engaging in an illegal war but he can't mobilize what military is left to get their asses in gear in the Gulf Coast. Fort Rucker helicopters idle, Air Force personnel working out in Biloxi instead of pitching in....

3. I am pissed that Condi is yucking it up in the Big Apple while the people in the Big Easy starve and drown.

4. I am pissed that Cheney is fishing in Wyoming instead of fishing people out of the water in New Orleans.

5. I am pissed that some people still think our government is doing all they can and think Bush is still leadership material. He was NEVER leadership material.

6. I am pissed that I could do a better job as FEMA director than the asswipe they have bumbling through the job now.

7. I am pissed that the Red Cross just mobilized in Biloxi YESTERDAY!

8. I am pissed when I still hear comfy cozy armchair evacuees withholding sympathy because the people of New Orleans should have left when they were told.

9. I am pissed at a president who has zero tolerance for looters when he is about to sit down to a gourmet meal and New Orleans police are told to loot to feed themselves.

10. I am pissed that sections of New Orleans resembled third world countries BEFORE the hurricane struck and nobody gave a damn then either.

11. I am pissed that white people "find" supplies while black people "loot" for them.

12. I am pissed that someone is syphoning gas from my friend's car at night in an area that is not experiencing a gas shortage yet and prices are right around the national average.

13. I am pissed, pissed, pissed that heartless Republicans control all three branches of our government when most of them probably wouldn't save their grandmother from drowning if it meant they wouldn't be re-elected.

14. I am pissed that corporations are not announcing they will operate at cost for one quarter in order to donate large sums of money to the recovery efforts.

15. I am pissed that I am not rich and a senator. I would have loved the opportunity last night to present a big fat personal check to the floor of the senate and shamed everyone else into doing the same.

16. I am pissed that people who can barely rub two dimes together are scraping to find ways to help when their tax investment is being squandered.

17. I'm pissed that this profligate administration has put us in such a huge deficit with tax cuts disguised as "tax relief," engaging in illegal warfare, paying for dumbass projects like a bridge to East Bum, Alaska.

18. I'm pissed that people watch Fox News and think they are informed voters.

19. I'm pissed at multi-millionaires who throw concerts to raise more money from people who can barely rub two dimes together. I'd rather they up their personal donations than waste our time with a telethon that has overhead.

20. I'm pissed that President Bush is a drunk moron puppet who doesn't give a rat's ass about Americans and is sitting in the White House because his buddies own the voting equipment.

21. I'm pissed that we can replace a human heart, land on the moon and make cheaper and cheaper computers but we haven't found a safe, efficient, renewable source of energy. We've known an economy based on fossil fuels was a disaster waiting to happen for decades!

22. I'm pissed that selfish greedy bastards pretend to follow the teachings of Christ while they oppress the needy...and people listen to them and enrich them.

23. I'm pissed that corporations have more rights and privileges than I do but none of my responsibility.

24. I'm pissed that some people in this country do not have access to the basic necessities of life. Nourishment, shelter, medical care, love and respect.

Unfortunately, I could go on and on and on. Overall, I'm pissed that I feel so fucking helpless.

Join me in a primal scream?

AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Edited to fix some typos. Did I mention I was pissed? -- Also, I know this is a very Ameri-centric rant. Much of what I said extends to the world population as well.

6. LOL! I think my children are afraid of me this morning.
Just kidding, but my eight year old did come and give me a hug a few minutes ago. When I gave him an enquiring look he shrugged and said, "You looked like you could use it...wish I could hug that guy on tv. He looked like he could use one too." (Mayor of New Orleans) All I could do not to cry.

7. Well that explains why my uncle has disagreed with me.
I've suspected he had neither for quite awhile now. Then again, his daughter used to live in New Orleans. Wonder what he'd think if he saw one of my rants now.

I've been feeling for days. These people have so screwed our country that I just can't take much more.

Innocent people are dying AGAIN under this criminal administration and as someone on Mike Malloy's show pointed out, next month the new backrupcy law goes into effect. What is this going to do to the people of these states that have lost absolutely everything?

You know what? I think I'll join you!

15. Yes. Thanks. I needed that too
It's why I'm here. No point in crying alone. I've been crying off and on all morning, and while I know it's not constructive, I keep thinking about the stories I've been hearing, and, it's just all I can do.

Tried to tell my kids how bad things are, and, it's embarrassing to get so upset, and probably confusing, because to them, this feels like it's happening on the other side of the world. They need to know though. My oldest, he actually was thinking that "those people should have left". Started a whole new bout of crying, no no no, a lot of people simply could not leave. Normal people, people not so different than us. And even if...even if...they road out the storm, and NO one thought they'd have to face this kind of aftermath. Not even me, and I'm a terrible one for doom-saying. I had no idea it would be this bad. Even after all the crap I routinely say about the admin, I didn't think they were capable of this.

Letting this happen to the survivors. Thousands. Babies. Nursing home patients dead in their wheelchairs. Women being dragged off into homes or raped in the streets. The survivors.

I mean, letting those people suffer and die, that was the goal? They could have done that, still, by ignoring the outlying areas and concentrating on those that made it to the dome. Just for show, I figured they'd help THOSE people. The one's that made it. Just for show, you know? Just to show they're "doing something". And then, they could have let the rest of the area go to hell, and...we'd have never been the wiser. I mean, this level of disregard makes no sense; even a token effort would have made face time.

I can't figure out why they're doing this. It's like a human cruelty show, as if this is in-your-face illustration of how much we don't matter. What we have to look forward to. How much at risk we are. It sounds nuts, to think it, sounds nuts to write it, that this admin would possibly allow this, just to "scare us". But...but what they're doing, or not doing, IS NUTS no matter HOW you slice it. They ARE allowing it, and no amount of excuses explains it.

Makes me think, it's time to fill up water bottles. Damnit all to hell and gone, why'd they have to elect this monster?

16. I had a heartbreaking conversation with my eldest as well.
My kids are 2, 4 and 8 so obviously the younger two are oblivious. The 8 year old still remembers 9/11 and has been drawing some rather interesting comparisons.

I too had to talk to him about people not having the ability to leave. About 24 hours later he saw the picture of the submerged school buses and said, "why didn't they just drive them out in those?" Well if an 8 year old could have figured that out!!!!

Mind if I brag about my son some more?

I showed him the two Yahoo pictures and asked him what he saw different about the two pictures. He answered, "this one has two people and that one has just one." I told him he was right and asked if he noticed any other differences. He answered, "that picture has a girl in it?" I said, yes but I'm wondering if you notice anything else. He said, "No. Are they on different streets? I can't tell."

It took me a moment to decide whether or not to say anything but then right or wrong decided to jump into the issue of racism. (We had had a discussion earlier in the day about connotation making synonyms very different after all.) I pointed out the captions and asked him what he thought about it. Bless the child he instantly said, "What is the difference between looting and finding? Didn't they do the same thing?" I almost broke down and cried.

21. Oh, it's hard. I know, It's insane.
And then they go to school, and learn stuff about history and geography, they come home and you have to TRY to explain what is probably (hopefully, at this point) the worst disaster our nation has ever seen. One which could spin us into a Depression.

and we were already weak, you know? It reminds me of the heartbreaking part of one of the Lord of the Rings books, when Gandalf, the wonderful wizard character, is taken down into an abyss by an evil creature. He said, "and I was already weary", when he faced it. Our nation is already so divided, worried, angry, and now this.

It's enough to break a million hearts.

18. Right now I am just pissed
(and sad and frustrated and shocked and outraged) that those people are still in there. I don't care if it is the military or what country that military is from, I don't care if it is a group of angry truck drivers or bus drivers, I don't care if it is a millionaire who hires a team or someone who does it knowing we will pay them back.

I would give my money to that. I won't to what the presidential pimps are asking for and the red cross is fine but who is helping the people in there and getting them out. Who do we pay to get them out if our taxes don't do it?

I am so mad. RIGHT NOW!

I will be mad about other things later.
but i am so sad that however angry i am, the anger doesn't give them food, drink, escape or solace right now

Prayer for today --

realize our synergistic power. May those responsible for this horror reap the whirlwind.

I do think Bill cares too much about America. I know some people are critical of his presence as being too close to Bush and a betrayal of the democrats but I have to think it's because he doesn't trust them to work alone.

32. I'm a little more tinfoily on that
I think they are using Bill to try to put a good face on the BFEE. They have something over on him and I suspect it has to do with Mena drug running or the OKC bombing. I liked the hell out of Bill, but he has fallen substantially in my mind.
Even had some respect for Poppy as a president. Now Bill and Poppy just make you cringe when you look at who is holding power now.

I'm pissed that gas is now $2.99 and possibly going to 4. I get more pissed thinking what gas for heating the house will cost this winter.
I'm pissed that it is so damn hard to make it in the dubby economy and then things get worse.
