Every time Bush opens his mouth he's gonna dig the hole deeper.
Remember Mark Crispin Miller's Bush Dyslexicon? Bush is reasonably articulate when talking about death penalties, making war, etc., but falls all over his tongue when trying to sound compassionate. So "It must be doubly devastating on the ground." Unless they program him and script him very carefully, he can't be turned loose to talk about human misery.

2. I was just saying I think the Dems' silence on this is a good thing.

The focus remains squarely on Bush, and that's exactly where we want it.

They have learned not to interfere with someone when they are in the process of destroying themselves.

8. I'm in agreement with that.
I have thought along that the Dems don't want to get in front of a train wreck. The GOP runs EVERYTHING. Now we see what happens when they are in charge. They've been given the rope.....

3. Great book and an excellent analysis -
He will stammer into total incoherence trying to sound compassionate about the deperate plight of so many non-wealthy and/or non-white people.

4. Also, I think he at some point must have suffered from some sort
of mental condition. This was very apparent when I saw film of the Texas gubernatorial debates. You could tell he was speaking ad lib and he was bordering on eloquent.

5. He cannot shovel fast enough
or through the manure fast enough. Blood is on his hands. His policy of small government, any government is bad government, hands out are evil is now his legacy, with the blood of hundreds who've died since Tuesday his entourage of mendacity.

to feign compassion are pathetic.
