The Virtue of Selfishness Govt -Versus - It Takes a Village Govt
This is the big difference between the GOP and The Democratic Party.

People allowed themselves to be lured in with tax cuts and when politicians appealed to the base animal "what is in it for me?" mantra of the GOP. They ignored the idea of selflessness and working toward common goals and now guess what... This is the kind of twisted fucked up government you have when the GOP and their selfish minions are in control.

I want those poor folks to get help. I want them to get the medical care they need and the help they need!!!!!

I cried watching the news. I feel helpless and I call my senators and I am ashamed just so very ashamed at what has happened to our nation!!!!

I wonder, will people finally wake up and see the light?

There is a big difference in the type of government you get when you have a Franklin Roosevelt in charge and a George W. Bush.

3. you reap that which you sow
The GOP has been all about "big bad government." So that is what we have now, incompetence. As Anderson Cooper said last night, "This is NOT Somalia." Something has to be done, three days ago, not next week.

4. They GOP blathered that you can live without the Government
but all the while wanted to get elected so they could turn the government over to the fucking evil corporate bastards.

Well this is "privatization" for the people of our nation....this is what it gets us.

5. They are so f*d...
They have been screaming terrorism for 5 years, with their best response being to make my 84 year old mother take her shoes off before getting on a plane. Now, the reality of the obvious hits and their f*ing lost.

If I hear, one more time, "We were prepared for a level 3, not a 4" I'm going to scream. That is NOT the problem. The overall defunding of infrastructure is the problem, coupled with disregard for anyone other than the country club members.

6. Sums it up perfectly -- but we're all to blame

We shouldn't let ourselves off the hook.

Our entire society has been complicit over the last 30 years in allowing our values to degenerate from the notion of communoity to a culture of amoral selfishness.

and when one village is wiped out the the others band together to help those in need.
