HEADS MUST ROLL: Chertoff and Brown for starters
The President has announced that he is unpleased with the response. Chertoff and Brown serve at the pleasure of the President. They are incompetent, and their incompetence has killed perhaps hundreds of people in the City of New Orleans.

Chertoff and Brown must be asked to resign their positions. They have failed the American people.

1. Uh, who picked these incompetent people
in the first place? This needs to go a little higher than that. We all know, no action is taken without the Bush approval.. He is the first and last word..

8. True
I'm talking about immediate action. Chertoff and Brown should be fired immediately, and qualified people put into interim leadership positions. Brown is an incompetent of first order, and thoroughly unqualified for his job. Chertoff is moderately qualified as a prosecutor, but does not know how to coordinate the agency he was nominated and appointed to run. They must be removed from those crucial positions NOW!!!

4. This assumes that there's such a thing as "accountability" anymore
in America.

Our masters are not accountable for anything.

7. Both of them fired summarily, today, right now, and then...
for such gross incompetence, more than can be possibly described, they need to be arrested for about 20,000 counts of negligent homicide. No bail, no deals.

9. Incompetents=fall guys when shyte hits fan.
The fall guys accomplish what they need to do, which is overseeing the
gutting of whatever program they're placed over.
Then when something goes horrifically wrong, they take the blame instead of dubya.
Bushco has worked this down to a fine art, but I don't think it's going to save 'em this time.

11. What I'd love to say to Brown...
Dear Mr. Brown:

It's not like this storm suddenly materialized on Saturday morning - you had almost a week's warning that this storm was going to hit Florida then go into the Gulf of Mexico.

Part of "Emergency Management" is managing the emergency before it hits, when you have warning of it. It's not exactly classified information that there are a lot of poor people in a big city like New Orleans. They don't have cars, or money to suddenly get on a bus or plane, and may not have family or friends to help them evacuate. There are also old people, and sick people in hospitals. Why the fuck weren't you working with state and local officials to move people out before the storm? Why didn't you have any kind of plan in place? Why weren't you ready to go in immediately after the storm abated to get people out of there? Why weren't you ready to deal with levee breaks?

These people you left to die are our family, our neighbors, our friends, our fellow Americans. We pay you with our tax dollars to do your fucking job. Did you seriously expect us to let you skate away from this simply because their skin color and/or socioeconomic status may not be the same as our's? You dropped the ball, and we are going to hold your ass - and the asses of your bosses - accountable.

Sincerely,

One pissed-off American

12. Oh no, they could impeach a president for a blow job
but not for murdering his own citizens.
