*bush knows he's screwed
I just watched his little "speech", and was amazed-- it looked as if he was speaking without a safety net! No teleprompter or cue cards, and it was obviously a ramble that had not been written by anyone. I imagine he was given a few talking points to cover, and he couldn't even keep them in his tiny little brain long enough to make any coherent sense of them.

I saw the look on his face, and I heard the fear in his voice. Nero now KNOWS that fiddling was perhaps not the brightest response to this national disaster. Oh, sure, he'll continue the charade- they ALL will, but their comfort zone has been stripped from them. Their gross incompetence has been spotlit for the entire world to witness, and they're melting from the heat of the klieg lights.

Keep the pressure on them. They are going to implode, and it will be glorious.

It's just a pity so many innocent people had to pay such a high price for us to see this moment.

I still intend to gloat about it, however. We do deserve that little guilty pleasure, if nothing else.

They're going down.

Fuck Washington. Fuck everyone in it. Fuck 'em all.

24. He said available help was "unacceptable"
The first time he's ever made a negative statement, IIRC.

3. Good post!
Off subject, I have some probably stupid questions about a couple of things here:

First...Where did the * asterik isgn thing come from when you wrtie Bush's name?

and

What does 'nt' stand for? I see people post it frequently here.

Thanks.

6. The * is for Bush.
Since he was appointed by the supreme court or * since he's an ass. The nt stands for no text. :hi:

10. The asterisk
is from Gary Trudeau who said, after bush was (s)elected in 2000, that bush will go down in history as an inconsequential footnote, designated by an asterisk.

The n/t means "no text."

11. The * comes from Doonesbury
It's his way of designating the president without naming him. I've always believed it was an attempt to protect himself from endless libel suits (or is it slander? I always get them mixed up.)

"nt" means No Text attached to the person's post. The thread title stands alone without further comment.

12. Not Sure About The Askerik -- But It Showed Up On Doonsbury...
early on. NT means "No Text." The idea is that it helps those on slow connections know not to bother looking for a message body.

14. I'm beginning to think he's probably sick of it all. After all, in his
previous "jobs", didn't he usually suck the bleeding corpse dry (money-wise) and move on in 3 or 4 years? Having to do the same thing for 5 years must be "hard work."
