Not sure what to make of this
This was emailed to me. I thought I would post it here. I don't know what to make of it. My mind cannot wrap around this.

http://www.defenselink.mil/transcripts/1997/t042897_t0428coh.html

" Well, it points out the nature of the threat. It turned out to be a false threat under the circumstances. But as we've learned in the intelligence community, we had something called -- and we have James Woolsey here to perhaps even address this question about phantom moles. The mere fear that there is a mole within an agency can set off a chain reaction and a hunt for that particular mole which can paralyze the agency for weeks and months and years even, in a search. The same thing is true about just the false scare of a threat of using some kind of a chemical weapon or a biological one.

There are some reports, for example, that some countries have been trying to construct something like an Ebola Virus, and that would be a very dangerous phenomenon, to say the least. Alvin Toeffler has written about this in terms of some scientists in their laboratories trying to devise certain types of pathogens that would be ethnic specific so that they could just eliminate certain ethnic groups and races; and others are designing some sort of engineering, some sort of insects that can destroy specific crops. Others are engaging even in an eco- type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.

So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts, and that's why this is so important."

1. Yes, the hurricane was a plot
by "Mad Scientists"

That would take Bush off the hook.

3. Not saying this was done, saying simply why is this
even important to our military?

12. Sorry....
I have no intention of flaming your post. I agree that such research is plausible, it was certainly within the scope of efforts of the 50's and 60's to counter "those Ruskies".

2. I've read about this before......
devising "ethnic" viruses that could possibly wipe out a specific race. If it's possible, I'm sure they'll do it.

6. This happened last year lala, don't
know if it is relevant but..
Think HAARP.

Of additional interest was the development, in March, of a hurricane in the South Atlantic, the only documented hurricane in that basin to impact land, and the first hurricane in the South Atlantic to be recorded in the satellite era.

5. People have to believe weather-making technology is just science fiction
And as far as I know, it still is. I've never looked into it much; figured, heck, hardly matters if it's true. Nothing I can do about it.

But it boggles my brain. If it's something someone wants to invent, and we all know any government would like to control weather...what in the HELL lets folks think it's not possible?? Science fiction is about IDEAS, and frequently, once someone comes UP with the idea, someone ELSE makes it happen.

It's just science. It's just a possibility. It's not impossible just because it hasn't happened. Look at airplanes. Look at electricity.

Look at how much they've mucked up the weather ACCIDENTALLY. Without even trying, think there was nothing to be learned from it?

Climate control? Who knows. Just don't think it's insane to consider. I can guarangoddamntee you they don't think it's insane, whether it's possible or not.

7. I'd love to see the so called "Star Wars" docket at the patent and
trademark office. My ex's good friend (genius engineer type who had worked at Sandia and stuff) was the guy who looked over all of those weather-as-weapons and other novel weapontry types of things. They had LOADS of them, and that was back in '84.

9. I knew a guy back when I was in college that claimed he had been....
...part of a NOAA team that had been involved in seeding clouds to produce rain, and lots of it.

Here's a website on the history of weather modification:

10. This is just anectdotal,
but I was dating a guy about 15 years ago who said he learned in class that the government can control the weather. They unleashed a really horrible hurricane that caused a bunch of damage to another country and then vowed not to do it again. He was always light on the details and I didn't think to ask more questions. Maybe he was right?

11. Dont' forget the PNAC's plan to implement Genocidal Weapons.
..And advanced forms of biological warfare that can “target” specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool.
