5. Even if true, it doesn't matter
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 10:14 AM by lancdem
Long term, Bush is getting hammered on this.

Edit: A 10-point drop makes more sense.

9. You're Correct
The media message has been, for two days, that the gov't mishandled this. The NO leadership has been castigating him directly, and it's been widely reported.

Lastly, there is no way that a poll could have been conducted between 2am Monday morning and have the results announced today with any level of confidence. (Maybe +/-10%, which could mean there is no bounce at all.)

Statistics just don't work like this. If he actually had shown compassion, leadership, and extra people weren't dying while Nero fiddled, i could believe a bump. But, the press has been unkind over this period, and he was slumping badly in the polls while the press was still, in large part, fawning over him.

8. Must be the results from a poll on the RNC website, that is the only
possible poll that would continue an alternate reality.

19. Yes, and no
I don't know if the RNC had such a poll but if they did, the right-wing would pronounce it as credible. That would be the only place possible that would get results such as reported in the OP, imo.

12. Good One!
"We polled 1000 hardcore Republicans who would vote for Satan if he had a R after his name. And in that poll, we found that the prez got a 10% boost because of his handling of Katrina."

Yeah, sure.

17. It must be a freeped web poll - pure propaganda.
No properly done survey could possibly come up with this result, even if one could be taken and analysed in this time.

If Rasmussen has him at 47%, then the others will have him at about 38%.
