Bush did not send help because he does not believe in government help... |
|
He believes in charities and Christian organizations resolving whatever crisis might arise. That is why he got Clinton and Poppy together - to spearhead the movement for charitable contributions. In his first speech after the disaster, he asked for people to send money. Indeed contributions all across the countries have sent millions of dollars to the Red Cross and other charities. However, the people stranded, hungry and dehydrated from this storm, need more than money. They need immediate help. They need to be rescued. The whole premise of compassionate conservatism is bankrupt in these types of disaster.

2. Bush's idea of helping is asking someone else to help |
|
and taking the rest of the day off.
It's sorta like "supporting the troops": doing nothing more than cheering someone else's works.
Did Bush campaign the the promise to work to help america or the promise to ask other people to work to help America and see if they feel like it?

Instead paying an extra $30 in taxes per year, and not having the funds to have an immediate response in place, each person will end up paying $100 or more, when it's too late now for many of these people.

6. But Federal Help Is Our Money Is It Not? |
|
I mean we are the ones that pay the money for all the bills. So in essence how can we be dependant on the government when it is our money that pays for all of this? I love the Republican line of people relying on the government; we pay the government, therefore we are relying upon ourselves.
For every person in NO and surrounding areas, demand accountability from your President. Where is the money we pay to have federal disaster relief? Where are the troops designated to support our states in emergencies like this? Demand our troops come home now to do the duty of protecting states and the borders....
