John Edwards was right. You are witnessing two Americas |
|
And even the MSM is noticing. Fed up reporters who have been seeing the carnage and lack of help for themselves. Matt Lauer this morning mentioning the depth of poverty and how many in New Orleans doing all of the suffering and dying were black. Tim Russert admitting that the Federal govt. and the MSM have neglected the true impact of poverty in our country.
The MSM has briefly awakened and is finally outraged. Now it's time for the rest of us to fight to replace the current misadministration.
The turning tide will benefit all of us. More govt. programs to help the needy. No more demonizing "federal programs" which started during the Reagan administration and has continued since.
The times, they are a changing, folks. It is now time for the peaceful overthrow of an incompetent administration and the rebirth of government helping those in need. I can feel it, folks. Can you?

4. Yes, you are absolutely right |

I guess I was referring to the Haves, the Have Nots, and the Have Mores. Maybe three Americas.

6. Honestly, when's the last time GWB got within 3 feet of a poor person? |
|
Poverty is simply an abtract concept (if indeed GWB is capable of forming those) to this petulant, spoiled son of millionaires. How much real contact has GWB ever had with folks whose daddies didn't own corporations and whose children couldn't afford the best any Ivy League school had to offer? GWB never had a job he didn't get throught the good ol' boys network, one that includes Saudi princes and a grandpappy who made his own fortune dealing with the Nazis.
Yes, despite the faux cowboy trappings and the affected down-home drawl, George W. Bush has about as much in common with "common" folk than I do with the Queen of England.
Many people have remarked how easily and honestly W's predecessor could move among crowds of workaday Americans. There was a reason for that. Bill Clinton knew what it truly was to be dirt poor; GWB has only seen "them" from an altitude of 15,000 feet, scurrying beneath his contempt. GWB is never less at home than he is when faced with the prospect of rubbing elbows with any crowd not kept at safe distance by armed security or concealed behind the chain-link enclosure of a "free speech zone".
No, George W. Bush was never one of "us". The MSM *should* be ashamed of perpetuating this sham with such fawning glee. Unfortunately for the thousands who will die in NOLA, however, their epiphany fell a few days short.
