Was Relief Withheld ON PURPOSE TO COINCIDE W/ BUSH'S VISIT????
So it would seem HE arrived w/ the cavalry????????

Odd, the relief is arriving exactly NOW as if coordinated around HIS visit to the area and if HE brought it in.

Remember, everything and I mean EVERYTHING is politics and PR to these scumbags.

93. It's Rove's work. No question. Thousands of trucks there today,
means that at least half of them were there yesterday.

Outside the city. Waiting for their cue, and waiting for the FOX camera truck to confirm that they were ready to broadcast the parade.

47. Well, since the NG was not letting supplies in or people out
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 11:59 AM by Spike from MN
(except for the buses being evacuated), it looks to me like they held back supplies until * showed up in order to make him look good.

I have recently managed to speak to some friends stranded in New Orleans. They are starving and dehydrating and there is no news of when they will be receiving food and water. I have spoken to relief efforts and understand that there are plenty of supplies waiting for these people, BUT THEY ARE NOT BEING ALLOWED INTO THE CITY.

The National Guard has the city surrounded and is not letting anyone in or out, except the buses being evacuated. The excuse that they can not bring supplies into New Orleans because of the looting and gun fire is not a valid excuse - if they are too afraid to enter the streets of New Orleans, they need to be air dropping supplies into the city. If the United States is capable of sending planes that can withstand enemy fire to drop bombs in Iraq, certainly they are capable of air dropping supplies into a city where the worst of the gunfire they could encouter would be from semi-automatics.

http://neworleans.indymedia.org/news/2005/09/3941.php

Of course, don't expect this to hit the media but on the chance it does, the WH will deny it and the Rove machine will put the blame on the the "librul" media for trying to make * look bad.

58. It was BOTH. Clearly stage-managed.
There's NO WAY they could manipulate the timing one without manipulating the timing of the other. If they only delayed the convoy by 6 hours, that's 6 hours too long. I'm willing to bet the convoy was delayed by at LEAST a day.

What's absolutely clear is that they deliberately delayed instead of pushed it as early as possible.

Midday. On-camera. Before the 5pm Friday news dump for stuff they try to hide. Absolutely timed.

I think there were National Guard in the area but they didn't want to move them in until they had an overwhelming force, and it took time (days)to activate some of the Guard and get them there.

that far but, today, seeing the 'coincidence' of supplies and help arriving at the SAME time as bush has flown to the area, I can believe it. NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, is too low for the bush cabal.

None the less, I am very happy there is FINALLY help arriving and if bush thinks this 'coincidental' occurance is going to help him, he and his gang are still in the 'other' reality.

Just some ideas for example, he's going on about the funds that will be spent on rebuilding. Does Halliburton build cities?

FEMA was supposedly spending $$$ a day on rescue, when obviously they were not.

He cannot even manage a photo op--the food should have BEEN there, the pics that would resonate would be those of people getting and eating the food...but I will bet he was afraid of riots at the distribution points.

Cheney has gotta be sick--the mismanagement is way too extreme for any other explanation.

For those who do not get my nuance, the food should have been there the minute the wind died down, but that did not happen. Better still, the buses should have been there to take the poor and elderly away before the hurricane hit, but that did not happen either.

53. Or the other way around
Namely that WHEN a good photo op was available, THEN * would turn up to lead the charge from the rear. That too is disastrously stupid and maybe explains why lameduck dawdled serenely until called to center stage.

Waiting like an idiot while the first stage rocket fizzled and exploded and was rebuilt is also bad. Yes I would love to get the most heinous crime out there and proved. Speculation sometimes misses the equally sordid and more evidenced lesser explanation.

Again, I must wonder at what Bush is talking about with his feckless crew in the WH and whether some of our rants here and the undercurrent below the feckless press is provoking. The remark about Trent Lott's house to my mind raises the ongoing suspicion that they are rankled(amused?) by the remarks among us over the destruction of the non-Biblical Lott's house.
Why drop these hints that that they may be listening to our outrage and get these digs in? Maybe they are NOT digs, too subtle an idea ever to occur to the media, but they keep popping up as casual eruptions of insight into what these arrogant doughbrains may be discussing behind closed bunkers.

This has happened several times in Bush statements that seem rudely inappropriate and bizarre. the theory they are symbol finger flips against his harshest critics(us, to name a few) is not any less wild than the one posted here.

And it fits their rotten mold.

"Now watch this drive."

They're trying to bring his poll numbers back up. Like after 9/11. I'm starting to think maybe a LIHOP on this one.

92. The CNN headline read
Convoy of Hope....the propaganda effort has begun in earnest...no more stories of looting and gunfire and such.

Now all is "morning in America" and the sheep will swallow it whole.

this propoganda. This is what has taken so long. They needed to organize themselves for a screen shot.

64. Now I know why Sen. Landreau was thanking Bush on Anderson Cooper
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 12:56 PM by Zeebo
yesterday. Can we throw someone out of the party? She is a disgrace to all Democrats. Thanking Bush?!?!?!?!?!? What the fuck has he done???!?!?!?!? I thought that was just unreal yesterday. And kudos to Anderson Cooper for calling her on it. Saying we don't need to hear politicians patting each other on the back while dead bodies are being eaten by rats.

71. Will someone tell me how it can be merely coincidental that...
the relief supplies, the troops, the buses, the start to repair the breach in the levees ALL happened suddenly at the same time, the same time as bush arrived in the area. Please, someone tell me how this was not all PLANNED to provide a photo-op for bush first, relief for the people of NO, second?

74. It's All Too Neatly Choreographed To Be Coincidental
That coupled w/ Minstrel Boys thread about the NG STOPPING supplies from entering and the picture is clear.

They delayed help until Bush could get there and have his photo ops.

I'm beyond disbelief. It's too much.

78. Look at this
http://neworleans.indymedia.org/news/2005/09/3941.php

There are supplies sitting in Baton Rouge for the folks in New Orleans, but the National Guard has the city surrounded and is not letting anyone in or out. They are turning away people with supplies, claiming it is too dangerous. If we have planes that can drop bombs on people in Iraq, certianly we can air drop supplies into the city. Our goverment is KILLING the people of New Orleans. This is the message I am now sending to all major media sources, national and worldwide, as well as posting to email lists, blogs, etc. The story is getting out that the people there are not getting supplies, but the truth of WHY is not. Please help spread the word, we must get this story out. Please so not let any more of my friends die

90. that was certainly our first thoughts too.
i turned on the TV today and the first thing i hear is how people have degraded into "animals" in NO. :puke: I want to scream.

The only "animals" I see are the incompetent and soulless politicians who have done nothing and the journalists who are barely able to contain their racism in the face of such devastation.

97. Nice Hollywood style entrance!
I haven't read all this thread - but it took quite a bit of time to put together all than convoy, all neat and packaged and orderly. Now the first trucks had to be ready to go way before the last trucks! What's with the theatrics! And isn't it interesting how they showed up right after B* made his grand speech that he was the calvary coming to the rescue!
I'm so sick at my stomach over this I can't stand it -- and the RW are going to lap it up like a dog laps vomit!! My rage is overwhelming. How many more lives are going to be on this criminal's head! He should be impeached!
