| Attention all PHILADELPHIA Residents!!! |

I just got off the phone with Mayor Street's office. His office is working on a plan with local churches and community organizations to relocate up to 1,000 families displaced by Katrina to Philadelphia!
The details of the plan have not yet been finalized, but if you would like to be added to the list of volunteers to be called up to aid in this effort, please call Mayor Street's office at (215)686-2181.
Helping to give these families a new start in Philly and to allow them to reunite with their family here is the greatest gift you could possibly give.
For resident's of other cities, call your mayor's office to see if a similar plan is in the works and, if not, demand that they begin one!!

I don't know if Honolulu could follow suit, since we have a housing crunch of our own, not to mention those thorny air transport issues -- but I'll see what we can do.

Give your leaders a call. The flights might be difficult to arrange, but if there are people in Hawaii that want to take in familly from NO, I'm sure that community groups could make it happen!
Reunited with family in Honolulu, sure as hell beats a cot in the Astrodome!!
