Party loyalty is important sometimes. |
|
I think that a certain amount of party loyalty keeps us from being fickle, and throwing away the good things that separate the Democratic Party from the Republican Party. It gives us pause to think these things out and not make rash decisions. We may not like everything our Democratic candidates stand for, but they sure seem better than the Republicans, don't they?
One thing I think Gore or Kerry would have done much better than Bush* has done is to supply funding for our civil infrastructure, such as the levees which needed maintenance along the Mississippi River. Though some people felt that Gore and Bush* were very close, we can see that sometimes the differences that are easy to gloss over become magnified later, and become very important, if not to us personally, then to others.
So hooray for party loyalty, to all my fellow loyal Democrats! :hi:

Democratic party leaders should be loyal to us, not vice versa. They work for us, and we must never let them forget it.
Party loyalty is just fine, as long as the party leaders don't betray us. So far, most of them seem to be spineless wimps.

4. Well said and entirely right. |
|
Loyalty to party is all fine and dandy as long as the politicians realize that they are not the bosses but the employees and do their jobs of representing the nation and the people rather than those that supply them with money.
Alas, it seems to be downright miraculous on the rare occasions that such a thing occurs.

Sorry, got carried away playing with the subject line of your post! You might not be old enough to remember that that was the name of a Diana Ross song from the disco era!
I agree that our leaders should work for us, and that's one of the things I like about the Democratic Party; I think they would have worked hard to make sure the levee was repaired with proper funding of FEMA and Army Corps of Engineers.
Thank you for posting and sharing, shireen! :hi:

2. I put loyalty to country ahead of loyalty to any political party. |
|
People putting loyalty to party ahead of loyalty to country and doing the right thing is what has gotten us into this mess.

5. Me, too. However, I agree with LoZoccolo. Dems would do a helluva,... |
|
,...lot more for the American people than the blood-sucking, profiteering Republicans.

I would agree that loyalty to our country and it's citizens comes first and foremost...and am glad that the Democratic Party has been the better of the two parties in that count as well.

Hooray for people who follow the party lock-step into oblivion as they ask the Republicans nicely to not be quite so greedy and evil. You're just not going to let up today, are you? As with the earlier thread, on behalf of all the Dems here in Louisiana, go suck an egg.

I have been known to be fond of both deviled eggs and egg salad, as long as the recipe is right, but I have to admit I've never tried sucked eggs before!

I'm tired of this shit.....where are they? All we get is lip service dammit! You know who the responsible party is???? THE PEOPLE! YOU AND ME! And as soon as we all REALLY come to terms with that..........WE HAVE NO HERO.....NO HERO in the public eye that won't soon get shut up...or worse "suicided" then we can all get to work at taking back our country! But it's a process and it's a leap, but eventually I believe all of you "loyal" folks will be on board and will truly be the ones to be counted on!

Glad to know that you have confidence in people to loyalty to the party, and that you count on me!
